Ascona Group (‘Ascona’), a top 10 UK independent forecourt operator and one of The Sunday Times’ 100 fastest growing businesses, is delighted to announce that two of its forecourts have received awards for their high-quality services and operational excellence.
The Group’s flagship Green Garage service station was named Regional Forecourt Trader of the Year in the West Country and Wales up to 4mlpa for the second year in a row at the Forecourt Trader Awards 2023.
The award championed Green Garage’s dynamic and visionary approach to forecourt retailing and Ascona’s focus on evolving the site to rapidly meet the changing needs of its local community and customers.
Building on Ascona’s success, the recently reopened Machynlleth service station in North Wales was named Forecourt Store of the Year at the annual Nisa Exhibition. The award follows a transformative £3m redevelopment programme at Machynlleth, in line with Ascona’s strategy to develop the next generation of roadside retail destinations.
As part of the redevelopment, Ascona expanded the site’s existing Nisa Retail store, which spans 3,500 sq ft and now offers an extended range of products and food-to-go offerings. The site now also features a car park with a larger capacity, as well as a new roll-over and jet car wash.
The awards recognise Ascona’s continued commitment to providing customers with a high-quality service as the Group goes from strength to strength, having grown considerably since it was founded to 61 locations across the UK, serving over 300,000 customers each week and selling over 4.5 million litres, which roughly equates to 18 tankers per day.
